Whitchurch has blossomed once again – this time on the national stage. Whitchurch In Bloom has scooped Gold in the Small Town category at the prestigious Britain in Bloom UK Finals, awarded by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).
The win caps off a year of tireless effort by the Whitchurch in Bloom volunteers, who have worked throughout the seasons to create stunning floral displays, improve green spaces, and encourage community pride.

Judges praised Whitchurch for its “exceptional community spirit, creative planting, and commitment to sustainability,” noting that the town’s blend of colour, heritage, and care for the environment made it stand out in a competitive field.
The Britain in Bloom competition is the UK’s largest community gardening campaign, celebrating towns, cities, and villages that make positive changes to their local environment through horticultural excellence and community action.
This latest success follows Whitchurch’s strong showing in regional rounds earlier this year — and solidifies the town’s reputation as one of the most vibrant and community-minded small towns in Britain.
